Store planning app : Enterprise
LOWES DIGITAL TWIN
Access store information and plan at the speed of thought.
Lowes has created virtual replicas of all it’s 1700 stores that brings together information the store already has like where products are located and how they've sold in the past. The digital twin is a single 3D visual model that associates can explore on a computer or through a headset. It fuses spatial data with other Lowe's data, including product location and historical order information which gives associates a clearer picture of their inventory, helping them keep shelves properly stocked.
INNOVATION
AI powered search through conversation and presets.

The tools we’ve built are helping store planners optimize layouts and better perform analytics on inventory and sales data. Lowes can now test and validate thousands of merchandising product arrangements before making physical changes to any store. This saves huge amounts of time over the previous manual process of building a physical shelving mock-up for each planogram.
ROLE
Responsibility
I was recruited by the digital twin team specifically to bring the voice of the store associate into the design process, ensuring the tool reflected the operational realities and needs for how associates actually work. My role centered on identifying and clearly articulating those frontline needs to the broader team and translating operational realities into actionable design requirements.
A key part of this work was developing a strategy for aligning multiple store associate workflows into a single, cohesive feature set that would support their business goals.
Approach
DISCOVERY — Three distinct Lowe's employee roles each played a part in determining the final direction of our tool. To understand how they worked, I organized a series of moderated interviews and invited my core team to observe. Our objective was to map their existing workflows, clarify individual responsibilities, and identify the points at which their work intersected and required collaboration.
EXPLORATION & TESTING — I led the rapid iteration of concepts and the daily collaboration with three developers to preserve design intent. I partnered with my product manager to co-create a testing plan designed to reveal how participants engaged with the tool and where it fell short, ensuring our refinements were grounded in real user behavior.
AI POWERED
We’re thrilled to pioneer retail digital twins and elevate experiences for both our associates and customers.
